Lac Seul Training Center of Excellence operates as a regional training center and it is owned by Lac Seul First Nation. It’s priority goal is to provide certified training programs and workshops to enable individuals to gain employment or to continue on with their education.
The Lac Seul Training Centre of Excellence is a training facility based in Hudson, Ontario that has the goal of providing quality, certified training programs and workshops to the people of Northwestern Ontario, in a culturally adaptable learning environment.
It is within Kenora, Rainy River and Thunder Bay district of northern Ontario. Located in Hudson, Ontario roughly 10-20 kms west of Sioux Lookout and about approximately a 45 min drive.
Our overall goal is to establish a sustainable, supportive, not-for-profit training centre that focuses on preparing and certifying individuals for a variety of careers in Northwestern Ontario and beyond, while at the same time helping to build capacity within the regional Aboriginal communities. With new projects starting and more employment opportunities are becoming available throughout the area. Our aim is to prepare and certify our students for careers such as; mining, construction, forestry, hospitality, and resource industries, with the supportive training in programs and workshops it will give individual the skills they need in order to succeed in the workforce.
It is a local government and non-profit organization funded by the provincial and federal Government, Indigenous and Northern Affairs of Canada (INAC) and Lac Seul First Nation.
Aims to prepare and certify individuals for careers in the mining, construction, forestry, hospitality and resource industries
Offers periodic adult education programs administered by organizations such as Seven Generations Education Institute to enable students to gain an Ontario Secondary School Diploma
